Benefits of recognition for business culture

The Business Culture Awards gives forward-thinking organisations a way to celebrate work which sets their employees up to succeed; recognising how employee experience is fundamental to business performance. By strengthening your culture and sharing the outcomes you are:

• Creating a sustainable competitive advantage that is much harder to imitate than your products or services.
• Focusing on your employee engagement, one of your leading metrics of organisational performance.
• Applying an effective channel to promote, within and outside of your sector, how your company values its unique culture and its people.
• Gaining access to the powerful Business Culture network and community, which comprises leading practitioners and thinkers in HR and business.
• Demonstrating value to your investors or stakeholders by aligning a stand-out customer brand to an exceptional employer brand.

"You can buy a man's time, you can buy a man's physical presence at a given place; you can even buy a measured number of skilled muscular motions per hour or day. But you cannot buy enthusiasm; you cannot buy initiative; you cannot buy loyalty; you cannot buy the devotion of hearts, minds and souls. You have to earn these things.Clarence Francis, Chairman General Foods

  • "Attending the Business Culture Awards ceremony was an incredible experience. The atmosphere was electric, and the event was meticulously organised. What made it truly special was the sense of community and camaraderie among like-minded individuals. The awards celebrated talent, innovation, and hard work in the HR and L&D spaces, inspiring me to drive positive change at Pernod Ricard. I'm excited to receive the case studies for further inspiration!

Ann-Marie Kilcine, Head of Talent and Learning, Pernod-Ricard

  • "Magpie allows our women to connect with the right person for the right advice at the right time. It gives our women not just one mentor but numerous, ensuring greater relevancy and fostering more relationships. In fact, we don't even like to think of it as 'mentoring' at all… that's far too formal! I’m beyond proud of what the team at Wunderman Thompson have created with Magpie and delighted to see it recognised within the wider industry.

Helen Lee, Head of Growth and Marketing, UK & EMEA, Wunderman Thompson

  • "Creating a culture that colleagues feel a sense of belonging and are proud to work for is an integral part of our people experience at the Society. Being shortlisted in four categories and going on to win two Business Culture Awards is both motivating internally for teams but also helps us grow our reach as a charity and build our profile as a great place to work and volunteer which is so valuable. We are so excited and grateful to receive this recognition – it is testament to the fantastic team at the Society and also will help further our ambition - We want a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. For more information about working or volunteering for Alzheimer’s Society please view our website here

Corinne Mills, Director of People and Organisational Development, Alzheimer’s Society

  • "We are immensely proud to have won the Business Culture Award for Best Large Organisation, especially as we had some impressive competition! This recognition means so much to me, the DFDS UK&I People Team and our business leaders who strive every day to make DFDS a great place to work! Thank you to the eminent judging panel for their feedback and to the Business Culture Awards team for an amazing event!

Fran Williams, Human Resources Director UK&I, DFDS

  • "I think the Business Culture Awards are a genuinely superb opportunity to showcase some of the very best ways we can all make our organisations a force for good. The awards are very inclusive – where else can you get microbusinesses competing against huge multinationals on an equal footing? They’re also very well organised, and I know that the judges take their roles very seriously. For us, this has been an opportunity to really showcase the value of internal communications in fostering a positive working environment. It was also a great chance for the team to let their hair down and be rewarded for their hard work with a fabulous night out!

Alex Curling, Head of PR and Content, NHS Shared Business Services
