Exceptional business culture: the foundation of accelerating organisational performance
Your business culture underpins how engaged and productive your colleagues are on a daily basis, and whether they choose to stay with you over your competitors. It’s one of the top drivers for the best talent to join you. It’s the differentiator in how you deliver your service or products to your customers. The value in aligning the brand you portray externally with the internal day-to-day experience of your employees, is substantial, as repeatedly demonstrated by winning organisations.
The benefits of recognition for business culture
The Business Culture Awards gives forward-thinking organisations a way to celebrate work which sets up their employees to succeed - recognising how their people’s employment experience is fundamental to business performance. Many organisations have created and implemented specific projects which have a positive impact on aspects of their culture - increasing purpose, pride, collaboration or learning by example. By advancing or transforming your workplace culture, and then ensuring you communicate this broadly, you are:
- - Creating a sustainable competitive advantage that is much harder to imitate than your products or services.
- - Focusing on your employee engagement, one of your leading metrics of organisational performance.
- - Applying an effective channel to promote, within and outside of your sector, how your company values its unique culture and its people.
- - Gaining access to the powerful Business Culture network and community, which comprises leading practitioners and thinkers in HR and business.
- - Demonstrating value to your investors or stakeholders by aligning a stand-out customer brand to an exceptional employer brand.
"You can buy a man's time, you can buy a man's physical presence at a given place; you can even buy a measured number of skilled muscular motions per hour or day. But you cannot buy enthusiasm; you cannot buy initiative; you cannot buy loyalty; you cannot buy the devotion of hearts, minds and souls. You have to earn these things.”Clarence Francis, Chairman General Foods
Your workplace culture will never be a fait accompli. It is constantly evolving, and it is particular to your organisation. Business Culture Award entries capture those steps taken on your ongoing culture journey. You need to have achieved a measurable impact, but it’s the end of the chapter, not of the book.

Few can claim a CV as eclectic as this year's compere, Reverend Richard Coles. He is a prolific, best-selling author, radio presenter, TV regular and former-Church of England priest; who was the vicar of Finedon in Northamptonshire from 2011 to 2022. He first came to prominence as the multi-instrumentalist who partnered Jimmy Somerville in the 1980s band the Communards, with hits including "Don't Leave Me This Way". Reverend Richard is a frequent guest panellist on shows such as Have I Got News For You, Would I Lie To You? and QI. Often described as Britain's most famous vicar, Richard was the inspiration for the main character in the BBC hit comedy Rev, a programme for which he also served as consultant.
For the night's live musical entertainment, we’re excited to be unveiling a band to get you out of your seats ready to party with an array of Pop, Funk & Soul hits! The Compilation are an exciting & energetic party band with a broad repertoire spanning all eras from the 60s to the present day. They cover best selling artists from Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, White Stripes, Stevie Wonder & many, many more.
An Inclusive Event
It's important to us that this is an inclusive event and embrace your suggestions on +44 (0)1727 847398 or team@businesscultureawards.com if there is something which would make the event more accessible and comfortable for you. This is a celebration but we appreciate that there's no one size fits all and people love to celebrate differently.
We have a number of designated quieter spaces at the venue (Burr & Co and The Snug) and a prayer space (Hospitality Suite), all available throughout the evening. See the floorplan ahead of the event, or ask a member of staff to direct you. Those who wish to pray are asked to please bring their own prayer mats. You can see the venue's disabled access information here too. We are also aware that the event coincides with the end of Yom Kippur. Please do get in touch if you would like to attend but would need to arrive later. Finally, we'll check about any special dietary requests when you confirm your booking and appreciate that while some enjoy alcohol, others prefer not.
Livestreaming the Awards Ceremony
For Finalists unable to get there in person, we will be livestreaming the Awards Ceremony via our Twitter page from 21:15 BST so that you don't miss out on the announcement of the Winners for your categories.
