easyjet + UNICEF

Background
easyJet is a European airline with over 12,000 employees. Thus, a key challenge faced by the company is how to connect their network of over 9,400 Cabin Crew and Pilots in different bases across European countries. Embracing their ‘Orange Spirit’ and strong belief of doing things right, they launched their ‘Change for Good’ partnership with UNICEF in 2012.

The partnership was born in an effort to unite and motivate employees separated by language and distance but connected in the same goal of changing children’s lives. UNICEF is the world’s leading organisation for children, present in over 190 countries to ensure vaccination, education and protection.

"A great example of continually increasing motivation and engagement amongst staff"

Approach
easyJet saw the ‘Change for Good’ campaign as an easy way for their travellers to help change children’s lives on every flight and through taking part in fundraising challenges across Europe. By encouraging onboard collections in any currency, thousands of passionate staff members spread across multiple markets could come together to achieve a common goal of eradicating polio by 2020.

"Bringing people together across the globe to fight for a worthy cause"

Outcome
A great example of continually increasing motivation and engagement of the easyJet cabin crew is the 200% increase in UNICEF field trip applications. Since its launch, the partnership has reached its goal of raising over £10.2 million and has vaccinated more than 13 million children against polio.

By bringing people together across the globe to fight for a worthy cause, the partnership is a truly integral part of easyJet’s business culture.
